We use a direct shuttle bus service cost effective and great service www.localink.co.nz These guys should work for ARTA and put their service into the public system - they are awesome. They made everything so easy and cheap for regular travellers like myself and are luxurious too - no stinky buses or trains to travel on.

Taxi experience sounds familiar

I have previously had in acquiring experience in acquiring a taxi or shuttle transport home from
the airport to west auckland, others who live in the area have told me of similar experiences, over-inflated charges and longer routes than necessary being taken.  I could well relate to the story of a driver who went on the motorway to mangere and then doubled back to the airport as the same had happened to me on one occasion.  Apart from those taxi drivers who appear to try to find the longest route to the airport. I have experienced some who deliberately slow down when approaching traffic lights that are green.  Presumably this is in hope that they turn red before reaching them this extending the time and therefore the cost involved in the journey.  Fortunately i have now solved my problem since learning of Local Link Shuttles, which provides a friendly, efficient and helpful service to and from the airport from west auckland.  Recently charged me $45.00 from Henderson with only 1 other stop.  They also provided a meet and greet at no extra charge for my home journey despite the fact i was the only passenger.  The vehicle was comfortable and driver very knowledgeable of auckland roads.  lets promote the good services that are there and avoid those ripping people off.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Localink for assisting me with my transportation from and to Auckland Airport.  I was travelling on my own and arrived into Auckland very late at night and was looking for a safe way to get to my accommodation without the hassle of having to find my own way in a foreign country.
I really appreciated the personal professional customer service I received from Localink.  Not only did Localink meet me in the terminal with a name sign, they helped me with my luggage to the car and when arriving at the accommodation centre they also made sure I was checked in prior to leaving.    On the way back home, Localink picked me up took me to the airport, helped me check in and sat  had coffee with me until I was ready to go through the gates.  This gave me the comfort I was looking for as a single traveller.

The Importance of Excellence

I had a wonderful customer service experience last week that I thought I would explore. I was on a business trip to Brisbane Australia from Auckland and had to arrange transportation to and from my home to the Auckland airport. I live on the North Shore and a taxi fare can be between 80-90 dollars. I googled shuttle companies and ended up arranging transportation with ShuttleLink (www.shuttlelink.co.nz). I had a great trip out to the airport, the driver was superb and I got there with lots of time to spare. While I was in Brisbane, I ended up having to extend my trip by one day. I made all the flight changes but forgot to let Shuttle Link know that I would not be arriving on Wednesday night at 11:30, but rather on Thursday night at 11:30. When I managed to get on line to check email on Thursday morning, there was an email from Shuttle Link saying that they had waited until almost 1:00 AM and then went on to add, and I quote:
"Please let us know if you are alright, and need to arrange another pickup or did you make it home ok"
Needless to say, their concern for a customer was obvious and I immediately advised them of my new travel plans. On arrival in Auckland Thursday night they were there waiting. On the ride back home, I offered to compensate them for their time the night before. The driver said that he wasn't going to ask but he would not say no. (NOTE, I Offered, they DID NOT ASK). Their concern for their customer was above and beyond and I would recommend them to anyone who is travelling to and from the airport or has other multi passenger needs.
